If you want to improve your microbiota, reduce inflammation, control cholesterol, support weight loss, and increase energy, you need to know these four seeds.
Today I’ll explain:
- ✅ The 4 seeds I use the most
- ✅ How to store them properly
- ✅ How to grind them correctly
- ✅ How to use them daily
- ✅ Why they make such a difference
These seeds are part of my clinical protocols and my own daily nutrition routine.
Let’s begin.
1️⃣ Quinoa: Protein + Smart Carbohydrates
Quinoa is one of the most complete seeds available.
It contains:
- High-quality plant protein
- Complex carbohydrates
- Fiber
- Important minerals like magnesium and iron
✔ Why do I use it so much?
Because it promotes satiety and supports muscle building.
For women who want to lose weight without losing muscle, quinoa is strategic.
✔ How to use it:
- Cooked as a rice substitute
- In salads
- In quinoa bread
- As a protein base at dinner
✔ How to cook:
- 1 cup quinoa
- 3 cups water
- Cook until soft
- Drain excess water if necessary
White, red, or mixed quinoa all offer similar nutritional benefits.
2️⃣ Sesame Seeds: Mineral-Rich and Anti-Inflammatory
Sesame seeds are rich in:
- Calcium
- Zinc
- Magnesium
- Healthy fats
- Fiber
Main types:
- 🌑 Black sesame → slightly higher protein
- 🌕 Golden sesame → slightly richer in vitamins and minerals
Both are excellent.
⚠ Important: Must be ground
Sesame seeds need to be ground to release ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), which converts into omega-3 in the body.
If not ground, they act mainly as fiber.
✔ How to use:
- 1 tablespoon per meal
- Sprinkle over rice, vegetables, or salad
- Use like grated cheese
3️⃣ Flaxseed: Foundational Gut Protocol
In my practice, flaxseed is part of the initial protocol.
It helps:
- Regulate microbiota
- Reduce inflammation
- Control cholesterol
- Support blood sugar balance
- Improve liver health
- Increase energy
Flaxseed contains ALA, a precursor to omega-3.
⚠ Always use ground flaxseed
Never use whole flaxseed.
The nutrients are inside the seed.
If not ground, absorption is limited.
✔ How to grind correctly:
- Buy 500g
- Divide into 3 portions (150–200g each)
- Grind in batches
- Combine everything afterward
✔ How to store:
- Glass jar with tight lid
- Cool, dry place
- In hot climates: refrigerator or freezer
- Seeds can be stored in freezer (they do not freeze solid)
⚠ Do not buy pre-ground flaxseed from health stores.
It’s often old and already oxidized.
4️⃣ Chia: Natural Gel for Gut Regulation
Chia is different from flaxseed.
It:
- Does not need to be ground
- Forms a natural gel
- Releases nutrients easily
- Helps with satiety
✔ How to use:
- 1 tablespoon sprinkled on food
- In yogurt (let it soak)
- In smoothies
- In water
If using 2–3 tablespoons, let it hydrate.
If just sprinkling, no need to soak.
🌡 How to Store All Seeds Properly
Simple rules:
✔ Keep away from sunlight
✔ Avoid humidity
✔ Prefer glass jars
✔ In hot climates: store in fridge or freezer
Never leave seeds in open plastic packaging.
If one seed spoils, it won’t contaminate the others if stored separately.
💡 Advanced Tip: Make a Powerful Seed Mix
You can combine:
- Ground flaxseed
- Ground sesame
- Chia
Store in a small jar.
Use 1 tablespoon per meal.
It’s a natural anti-inflammatory blend.
🍽 How to Include Them in Your Routine
✔ Quinoa at least twice per week
✔ Flaxseed and sesame daily
✔ Chia in smoothies, yogurt, or meals
They can support:
- Arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Lupus
- Gout
- High cholesterol
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Fatty liver
- Dysbiosis
- Constipation
🌿 Why Do They Work So Well?
Because they:
- Support microbiota balance
- Reduce inflammation
- Stabilize blood sugar
- Improve energy
- Support weight management
- Increase satiety
There is no consistent nutritional re-education without strategic seeds.
💚 Conclusion
These four seeds are part of my routine, my protocols, and my patients’ lives.
They are simple, accessible, and extremely effective.
If you are not using seeds daily, you are missing one of the most powerful tools in functional nutrition.
